Facilitation of UNHCR Operations: ZRC assists the community in applying for UNHCR registration, documentation, and protection of refugees.

Social Services: The committee provides essential support in areas such as healthcare, education, and basic needs for refugees and asylum seekers.

Advocacy: ZRC advocates for the rights and welfare of Zomi and other refugees, including pushing for improved access to legal employment, education, and healthcare.

Community Support Units: ZRC is in contact with the Community-Based Protection Unit (CBP) to address the long-term needs and immediate protection concerns of refugees.

Collaboration with Other Organizations: ZRC participates in fact-finding missions, public meetings, and advocacy campaigns in partnership with international delegations and local NGOs to address the hardships faced by Zomi refugees and to recommend policy changes to host governments and international agencies.

Geographic Focus: ZRC primarily operates in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, but also engages with Zomi refugee communities in India and Thailand, working collaboratively to address transnational challenges faced by refugees from Myanmar.

Recognition and Impact: ZRC’s efforts have been acknowledged by UNHCR and other partners for their effectiveness in community organization, advocacy, and direct support to refugees.
